1. Who we are, and what this is
Ember Recipes ("the Service") is provided by M Augustsson Holding AB, org. nr 556942-8039, Markviksvägen 22a, 16559 Hässelby, Sweden.
By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
You must give a valid email address, or register using Sign in with Apple. If your account has a password, keep it confidential. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.
One person, one account. Do not share an account or impersonate anyone.
3. Subscriptions and payment
The Service has a free tier and paid subscriptions.
Purchases are made through Apple's App Store. Apple is the merchant of record — we never receive or handle your payment details.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your Apple ID settings. We cannot cancel a subscription for you.
Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's policy, not by us.
A family subscription covers you and the other members of the household group you have created in the app, for as long as they remain members of it. It is purchased through Apple, and may additionally be shared through Apple's Family Sharing, which is managed in your Apple ID settings. An individual subscription covers your account only.
We may change prices for future periods with notice. Existing paid periods are unaffected.
Fair-use limit on AI features. Paid plans include a generous but finite daily allowance of AI operations, because each one costs us money at an external provider. The current allowance is shown in the app. We do not describe any plan as offering "unlimited" AI. We may adjust the allowance with notice if usage patterns make it necessary.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into the Service — recipes, photos, notes, reviews.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, reproduce and display your content only to operate the Service: showing it back to you, sharing it with the people you chose to share it with, and processing it through the AI features described in the Privacy Policy.
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content shared with a family group that still has other members, which is retained with your name removed (this is explained in the app before you confirm deletion).
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload — including photographs of other people, for which you are responsible for having their agreement.
5. Acceptable use
You may not:
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that promotes self-harm or discrimination;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- harass, threaten, stalk or abuse other users;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or to circumvent usage limits, quotas or payment;
- scrape, resell or redistribute the Service or other users' content.
You may not engage in reverse engineering, systematic extraction of data, or competitive analysis of the Service.
6. User-generated content, reporting and moderation
The Service lets users publish content and interact — public recipes, comments, ratings, profiles, @handles, bios and avatars.
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Specifically:
- Reporting. Every piece of user-generated content and every user profile can be reported from within the app.
- Blocking. You can block any user. A blocked user's content disappears from your view and yours from theirs. Blocking applies to the public and social parts of the Service. It does not apply inside a family group you have both joined, where content is pooled deliberately; to stop sharing there, leave the family group.
- Filtering. We apply automated filtering to public text, which may reject a submission.
- Response. We review reports and act on them within 24 hours. Acting may mean removing content, restricting a feature, or terminating the account.
- Removal without notice. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach §5, at our discretion and without prior notice, including permanently ejecting repeat or egregious offenders.
- Contact. Anything can also be reported to support@ma-dev.se.
We are not obliged to monitor content proactively, and we are not responsible for user content, but where we are notified, we act.
7. AI features — accuracy and safety
The Service uses AI to read recipes from photos and links, generate meal plans and dish ideas, translate recipes, estimate nutrition, look up wine and restaurant information, and answer questions.
AI output can be wrong. Treat everything it produces as a suggestion to check, not fact.
This matters most for food safety. Ingredient lists, allergen information, nutritional values, cooking times and temperatures produced or transcribed by AI may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on them if you or anyone you cook for has a food allergy, intolerance, or a medical condition affected by diet. Always check the original source and the actual product packaging.
Nutritional estimates are approximations and are not medical or dietary advice.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service materially, we will give notice and a means of exporting your content.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, in the app, under Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. See the Privacy Policy for details on what is erased and retained.
We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms. Where a paid subscription is terminated for breach, repayments are not made outside of Apple's normal policies.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from the use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user in the preceding 12 months.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect.
12. Governing law
Swedish law. Disputes before the courts of Stockholm District Court, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence, and to your right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform or Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN).
